DENNIS I. WILENCHIK is a member of the Phoenix law firm of Wilenchik & Bartness, P.C. Prior to founding the firm in 1991, he was a senior litigation partner at the law firms of Storey & Ross and Squire Patton Boggs in Phoenix, Arizona, and he was previously a deputy county attorney of Maricopa County.
His practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on real estate and business, and he is a member of the Maricopa County and the American bar associations. Mr. Wilenchik has been a nationally certified civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy for over 15 years. Mr. Wilenchik is an Arizona Bar Foundation Fellow and was elected a Fellow to the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Mr. Wilenchik has served as a civil judge pro tem of the Superior Court, President of Maricopa County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, board member of the Arizona Bar Journal, secretary of the Civil Trial Practice Committee, member of the Superior Court Civil Study Committee, and a chairman of the County Bar Judicial Evaluation Poll Committee. He has also served on the State Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee.
Mr. Wilenchik has been a chairman of the State Bar Trial Practice Section and a member of the Evidence Committee of the American Bar Association. He has spoken at numerous seminars on trial practice, evidence and construction defects for various professional organizations and groups, and he has contributed to national publications on trial evidence and on mold issues. He is a diplomate of the Hasting’s College of Law Trial Advocacy Program and the National College of Advocacy Trial Advocacy Program.
Dennis was appointed by Governor Babbitt to the Arizona Board of Physical Therapist Examiners and was later appointed by the Governor to the Board of Naturopathic Physicians’ Medical Examiners. He was elected as Chairman to the Town of Cave Creek Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Wilenchik has also served as a member of the Arizona Bar Associations Young Lawyers’ Practice Manual Committee, which established a civil practice manual for the State Bar of Arizona. He has also served on the advisory board of the Arizona Department of Real Estate, appointed by Governor Brewer. His clients have included the sheriff of Maricopa County, the State Attorney Generals, and the Maricopa County Attorney, among others.
Mr. Wilenchik earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and his J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law. He is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in Arizona and in Texas, as well as the United States Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
